My name is Owen Conover. I am a senior at Immaculata High School in Somerville, N.J. I began playing lacrosse in fourth grade and fell in love with the face off position in seventh grade. I love the comradery, friendships, commitment and competition that playing lacrosse brings to my life. Attending a Catholic high school has also taught me about the importance of volunteerism and being part of a larger group, as a member of various clubs. I have been a member of my high school football team for all three years of high school, currently playing as a defensive end. I am a member or the Junior Varsity team, and have also had the opportunity to play at the Varsity level. Additionally, I have played Varsity lacrosse, since freshman year. I have a love for the face off position, but I am flexible and willing to fill in wherever my coach sees fit. I have played with the same club team, Team Turnpike, since sixth grade. I make an effort to attend as many face off trainings as possible, without jeopardizing my academic schedule. I currently train with both the Face Off Academy and the Face Off Factory. I have competed in the National Faceoff Showcase for the past three years. I am a member of Catholic Athletes for Christ. I do volunteer work at school including, Memorial Christmas Tree set up and locally at Southern Comfort Animal Rescue. My teachers encourage me to put my best foot forward academically and within my faith. My hope for college is to attend a Division 3 school where I can continue my academic career, as well play lacrosse at a highly competitive level.
