Lacrosse and I have a special relationship that started in a non-traditional place for lacrosse, Lexington, KY. Ever since I was old enough to hold a stick in my hands, I can remember never wanting to put it down. Because I live in the Central East, I have been fortunate enough to have my Dads East Coast experiences to shape my style of play. Traveling to Maryland yearly, attending camps and clinics as well as playing for club programs allowed me to travel anywhere where we could to find good lacrosse. While I was certain I knew lacrosse was my favorite sport (having played basketball, baseball, and soccer as well), my life changed forever when I was diagnosed with a rare bone tumor of my right pelvis, called an Aneurysmal Bone Cyst. Asymptomatic as it was, I fell during an indoor lacrosse game due to the fractures caused by the tumor. As if it was meant to be, my surgeon has a son who was my age and an athlete as well. I did everything he told me to do in addition to playing wall ball in my wheelchair. I leaned on lacrosse to heal me making us bonded together forever. My determination to play at the highest levels is fueled by my experience, earning a place for me with Thunder/LB3 2025 Blue. Playing with solid players and against great competitors brings excitement to my life and pushes me harder. At this time, my family has plans to move to Atlanta to further the journey.
In my first season with Thunder'/ LB3 I am leading my teammates in points, with more assists than goals. I feel like we are a good fit as the level of play brings even more out of me. I am fortunate to have learned from players at all levels who have instilled in me the leadership aspects of putting the team first, but being able to finish when the time comes. I love having the ball in my stick when the game is on the line because there was a time when I thought I might never play again. I don't take anything for granted...I love my family (my younger brother plays too), my teammates, my life and the sport that brings it all together. Because of all of this, I will work my hardest to honor the game that has given me so much.
