Paige Dumont
Recruit Profile
Multi-sport athlete, dual postion player, effective communicater on and off the field, exceptional speed and endurance, conscientious straight A student, selected leader by student and staff, and motivated learner.
I have been playing lacrosse for the last ten years. I was one of two freshmen chosen to be on the Hopewell Valley Varsity Lacrosse team last year, but unfortunately, our season was cut short. This year, I started every game and was awarded midfielder of the year. Along with lacrosse, I have participated on the cross country team since sixth grade. As a freshman, I was the number one runner for our team and qualified for states. This year I was Mercer County Runner of the Year and I was awarded MVP of my team for the second year in a row. Running has taught me endurance and exceptional speed.
I very much value education and I have worked hard to become a straight-A student. Next year I am taking two honors classes and two AP classes. I was elected for the fourth year in a row to be a class officer (Secretary) and I have been called upon by administrative staff to assume leadership roles such as being a leader for new student orientation. I also take part in many clubs and extracurricular activities. As a sophomore, I was honored to be asked to be a leader for SMAC (Student Movement Against Cancer), I am a member of PANDA (Peers Against Narcotics Drugs and Alcohol), and I have been involved in student council for the last eight years.
Sports have always been a huge part of my life and have taught me to be dedicated and to value the importance of teamwork. I love being a three-season athlete because doing so keeps me focused, competitive, and I certainly have fun along the way! Although I am running and playing lacrosse, I played basketball for five years but had to give it up when I joined the winter track team. I love the constant hustle and nonstop improvement that comes with sports. I play midfield and defense and enjoy finding the movement and flow I get with my teammates. On the field I often find myself in a leadership role, speaking up and talking with my teammates and addressing certain plays. Communication on and off the field is incredibly important for a team to have the energy needed to succeed.
