Rachel DeRochi
Recruit Profile
Extremely coachable, loves to practice. Aggressive with great knowledge of the field. Great competitor who constantly works to improve. Multi-sport athlete.Enjoys team camaraderie.
I started playing lacrosse when I was in sixth grade, 12 years old. When I was in eighth grade, I played for the junior-varsity women's lacrosse team at Fort Mill High School. When I got to high school, I switched from public school to Charlotte Catholic High School. There, I made the varsity team as a freshman and began to pick up field hockey as well my sophomore year. My favorite part of lacrosse is the competitiveness of the game and the beauty of the game. I would like to say that I have a good field vision and am confident asking for a pass in both hands and handling the ball with both hands. What stands out most in my game is my grit--my determination to get to goal, to create a play for my teammates. I also pride myself in being able to draw a free position while driving in the 8-meter. I work at Carolina Ladies Lacrosse, coaching young girls in both lacrosse and field hockey. I do lots of volunteer work with my school lacrosse team and my school's religion department.
