Smith was named the first-ever head coach of the womens lacrosse team at DeSales University in November of 2015.

Smith spent her previous two seasons before arriving at DeSales as a graduate assistant coach at Stevenson University helping the Mustangs post a 25-13 record and win their first-ever MAC Commonwealth Championship in 2014. She earned her Masters in business and technology management from Stevenson University in December 2015.

While with the Mustangs she helped coach two First-Team All-Region players, two Second-Team All-Region players, seven All-MAC Commonwealth players, a MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year, and two Academic All-MAC Commonwealth players. She also helped mentor four IWLCA North/South All-Star game selections and one MACDA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient.

Smith has also coached for TLC club program for the last two years (2014-15) under the direction of Mike Farrell. She is the Boardwalk Region Region Representative for MAC Freedom on the All-America Committee, the Division III Womens Lacrosse Regional Advisory Committee member, and the T3 Elite Lacrosse coach for HS graduation years for the past two years under the direction of Lori Brown.

Prior to arriving at Stevenson, Smith was a three-year member of the womens lacrosse team at the University of Florida and was part of the inaugural team at Florida in 2009 as a member of the #1 ranked recruiting class. She finished her career playing just two years and appeared in 11 games due to injury, serving as the team manager as a senior.

The Gators won the ALC (American Lacrosse Championship) in 2011 and 2012 and advanced to the NCAA Final Four in 2012 when Smith was a sophomore. She was named to the SEC Freshman and ALC Academic Honor Roll. Smith graduated from Florida in 2013 with a bachelors of science in recreation, tourism, and hospitality with a specialization in event management.

Smith is originally from Ellicott City, MD competing in both field hockey and womens lacrosse at Mt. Hebron HS. She was named an Under Armour All-American Underclassmen in lacrosse in 2007.
