My name is Reese Benford and I am a rising junior and future 2024 grad at The Latin School of Chicago. I am a three-sport athlete taking part in varsity lacrosse, varsity basketball, and varsity cross country, actively looking to pursue lacrosse and basketball in college. I am 5 feet 10 inches. During my freshman and sophomore years, I made varsity playing all three sports. On the lacrosse field, I was the lead scorer and assister on my school team and received the Rookie of the Year award and an All Sectional Mention. Better yet, I play for the True Lacrosse 2024 IL State Team and the True 2024 National Team as well as HHH in Philadelphia for Colleen Magarity.

As a dedicated athlete on the lacrosse field, I strive to obtain information from my basketball tournaments and apply them to my game, constantly improving my IQ in both sports. My versatility as an athlete has allowed me to compete to the needs of my team(s). One of my biggest strengths is my ability to anticipate and intercept ball movement and cutters on the defensive end as well as my fearlessness to attack the ball and the goal. I am aggressive and I will not stop working until the ball is in my (teams) possession. To improve my game, I participate(d) in the Under Armour All American Tryouts and in numerous college camps and showcases.

Off the court and field, I am determined to leave an impact on my community by participating in school clubs and committees, such as The Roman-2-Roman Steering Committee, Poker club, and Debate club. I pride myself on excelling academically (almost as much as competing athletically). I obtained a 4.0 GPA (unweighted) and, although I have not taken the SAT or the ACT, I look forward to studying hard and preparing for the test(s). My community service work has included volunteering at organizations such as Bernies Book Bank, The Night Ministries, and ReVive to help those in need.
