At the age of 5, I was diagnosed with a tumor in my right ulna (the outside bone of your forearm). When the doctors excised the tumor, they had to remove the growth plate. In order to have a normal functioning arm, I underwent an experimental procedure every two years (6 surgeries and accompanying rehab) where my doctors cut/shaped and stretched my ulna bone using an external fixator. I have spent 4.5 of the past 10 years wearing a metal brace. As a result, I missed every other lacrosse season growing up. In January 2022, I finished my last surgery and I am ready to take the next step. Since then, my growth as a player has only gone up and it will continue to do so. At 6'2 185 lbs, I use my body and natural strength to get leverage on my dodger and push them off their path. My speed allows me to scoop up ground balls and generate offense on the other side of the field. While Im a natural lefty, I can move the ball with both hands comfortably. I push myself in the classroom as well. By the end of my junior year, I will have taken 5 honors and 5 AP classes. While I was unable to run or train during my surgeries, I found an outlet in Boy Scouts of America. I am expected to achieve the rank of Eagle next Fall, and I am an elected leaded in my troop (Assistant Senior Patrol Leader- 2nd highest elected position). This summer, I completed a 12 day/100 mile back country trek in Philmont NM. I also work to give back in my community as an Ambassador for Shriners Hospital and in multiple projects in my community.
