Rick Terrio will be entering his 15th season in 2022 as the head coach of the Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team.

He won his 100th career game against MCLA on Monday April 9th 2018. In fourteen years at the NCAA level, Terrio has guided Fitchburg State to 108 victories, 42 All-Conference selections, and one NEWLA Rookie of the Year Award.

He also has had 6 Fitchburg State Female Scholar Athletes of the Year, 4 Fitchburg State "Female Leadership Award " Recipients (Nicole Kopacz 2021), and 5 Fitchburg State Female Rookies of the Year during his time here. Under Terrio's guidance, the Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team is a 8 x time recipient of the IWCLA Team Academic Award (2011, 2014-2020) for having a team cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. His team also won this years award at Fitchburg State for having the highest team GPA among all of the sports teams with a 3.20. This is the second year in a row for this achievement!

Prior to Fitchburg State, Terrio played a major role in shaping the North Middlesex Youth Lacrosse program, helping launch the boys division in 2000 and the girls division in 2002. In addition to serving as the Director of North Middlesex Girls Youth Lacrosse from 2002-07, Terrio also coached in the Bay State Games from 2004-2019, compiling two gold medals, three silver medals, and four bronze medals over the past 15 seasons. He also coached and managed his own AAU high school club from 2004-2018 which had over 110 players go on and continue playing at the NCAA college level.

In addition to his coaching duties, Terrio also served as secretary of the Mass Bay Girls Lacrosse League, the largest youth lacrosse league in the country from 2005-2007. He has consistently led his team to winning seasons and has worked tirelessly to promote the sport of lacrosse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Terrio currently resides in Townsend, Mass. with his wife Laurie and daughter Bonnie, while his son Patrick lives in Canton, Mass. Rick is also the Equipment Manager and Home game manager at Fitchburg State.
