I am currently going into my junior year in high school, I have played lacrosse since the 4th grade. I have always been playing a defensive position in lacrosse and other sports. I have played summer league every year since 8th grade. I am a serious skier but my real passion is lacrosse.
I have excellent vision of the field and ability to play strategically. I can set up an attackman and make intelligent, effective slides. I have the foresight to see what is coming from the offense well before it happens. I strategically stick check the ball carriers and I'm a good takeaway defender, timing my stick checks effectively after lulling the ball carrier in.
I'm big enough so that I don't get pushed around. I don't attract many penalties. I'm good with the ball in my stick. I'm not as fast as I would like to be (working on it), but I'm not an easy defenseman to get the ball from. I can dodge, but more importantly I keep my stick away from the player trying to dislodge the ball. I have good vision for the open teammate and set up a lot of clears.
I retrieve a lot of ground balls by working hard and getting my stick in the right place. I make very effective use of my feet to control the ball or get it to a teammate.
I am a good teammate. I am vocal on the field. I keep the defense in position on the field and keep spirits up when I'm off the field. I encourage my teammates and strive for everyone to play their best. I’m always eagerly taking advice from coaches and teammates.
I work hard, I always try to arrive early to practice so I can be prepared and warmed up. I stay late to help pick up and ask for feedback on how I’m doing. I am interested in a small Division II or III college. I want to study Computer Science and Engineering.
