He spent the 2017 season as a volunteer assistant coach. In 2017, Romero worked primarily with the midfielders and offensive coordinator Sean Kirwan.

Romero came to Charlottesville after spending the 2016 season as the offensive coordinator at Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colo. Romero helped lead Regis to its third state championship in 2016, while helping develop and coach All-American Alec Barnes, who now plays at Denver. He spent one season at Regis Jesuit after three season seasons as the offensive coordinator at Kent Denver High School from 2013-15.

Romero also owns coaching experience with STEPS Lacrosse in Summit, N.J., and Doc’s NYC Lacrosse. He started his coaching career at Denver East High School in 2010 as the offensive coordinator.

Romero also currently works with 3d Lacrosse as its business development manager, camps division. He joined the 3d Lacrosse team in the fall of 2012. Prior to 3d Lacrosse, Rocco spent two years working with a New York City-based recruiting company, Aerotek.

From 2009-2010 Rocco played Major League Lacrosse for the Denver Outlaws. In college, Romero was a four-year member of the Cornell men’s lacrosse team from 2006-2009. While at Cornell, he was a member of the 2007 NCAA final four team as well as a member of the NCAA runner-up team in 2009.

Rocco is a native of Denver, playing lacrosse in the state of Colorado up until 9th grade. From there, Romero moved to Baltimore, Md., where he graduated from The Boys’ Latin School in 2005. While at Boys’ Latin he served as team captain in both football and lacrosse. In his senior year Boys’ Latin ranked No. 2 nationally, right behind The McDonogh school whom they lost to in the state championship in 2005. Romero was awarded the “The Team’s Hardest Worker” was Second Team – All Towson Times and was also team MVP in football.

Rocco is a 2009 graduate of Cornell and currently resides in Charlottesville.
