When I was in 3rd grade I was watching NCAA lacrosse on TV and told my mom "I want to play that". My mother then had the task of finding out where we could do that given that lacrosse is not the most popular or available sport in Brooklyn. We found the Brooklyn Crescents, a non-profit organization dedicated to growing the game in Brooklyn. I went to a free clinic, and an hour later we were driving to Long Island to buy equipment. I was hooked. From there I kept playing and attending whatever free or paid clinics I could get my hands on to get better. I started playing travel/club in 6th grade under Long Island Hall of Famer Matt Panetta and I saw how much more competitive things were on the island. I loved it. I played with FLG Lacrosse for a few years and enjoyed the team camaraderie and the competition from teams outside of the tristate area. I made it a point to be the toughest kid on the field, I mean I'm from Brooklyn I have to live up to it, right? Now I'm playing for Long Island Express so I can continue to learn the same offense that my high School, Chaminade, runs. I chose Chaminade because of the education and opportunities, and to be honest because I wanted to prove myself as a kid from Brooklyn playing lacrosse. I have a 95 average. Living in Brooklyn and playing lacrosse and going to high school in Long Island has been a lot of work, logistically for my family and I, but it's worth every penny. It's given me discipline, has shown dedication, and allowed me to stay on right track for my education as well as my lacrosse game. In addition to academics and athletics (I also play football at Chaminade), I enjoy bicycle riding and making music (fairly new interest). I recently made the Under Armour Spotlight team for 2020, and hope to find the right place for my next chapter in education, and I deeply want lacrosse to a part of it. Down the road I'd like to coach and help continue to grow the sport in New York City.
