He migrated into the role after serving as the Assistant Director of Cape Cod Lacrosse before several organizations merged to form Kings. Before returning to the area, Murphy was an administrative intern at Boston College, where he played a wide role in game scheduling, assigning officials and game day management.

Last season, Murphy was an offensive assistant at Mass. Maritime, coaching the attackers and scouting opponents, earning the spot after serving as the head coach at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School in 2016 and Sharon High School in 2015.
