After playing travel soccer since the age of 6, I decided to make the difficult decision to switch to lacrosse. I played one season of lacrosse in middle school and not only walked away with the team MVP, but realized how much I loved the sport. Although I had a solid field IQ from my many years of soccer, I realized that my athleticism would only get me so far and that I needed to work harder in order to excel in this sport. In 2019, I joined the Fredericksburg Lacrosse Club in hopes of improving my technical skills. I had to look beyond my local area to find a more competitive lacrosse club, and in 2020, I joined Pride Lacrosse Club in Northern Virginia. This is quite a commitment as this is a two-hour drive from our home for weekly practices; however, Pride Black 2024 is nationally ranked and I was excited to make this team. Not only does my team have the goal of moving up in the rankings, but I have the individual goal of continuing my lacrosse career in college. I practice, play, run and privately train each week to improve my lacrosse skills. This self discipline and personal drive keeps me moving toward my ultimate goal of playing at the college level. As a freshman, I was a starter and top scorer for the James Monroe HS Varsity Lacrosse and Field Hockey teams. I am a versatile player and am able to play offense and defense, but prefer defense. I hold myself to high standards and challenge myself on and off the field. I am an Honor Roll student with a 4.2 GPA in the top 8% of my class. I take Honors classes and plan to take AP classes throughout high school. I was the Vice President of the National Junior Honor Society in middle school and plan to be a member of the National Honor Society in high school. I also plan to expand my leadership potential by joining and becoming actively involved in local high school clubs and volunteer organizations. Off the field, I enjoy traveling with my family, hanging out with my friends, and snow skiing!
