Sam Sucena
Recruit Profile
Very coachable, hard working, and disciplined athlete. Two way player, quick and can communicate well with teammates.
I began my lacrosse career in my Sophomore year of high school and was extremely quick to pick up the game, unlike any other sport I have played before. I fell in love with it the second I started playing. I was on the JV team and often was a starter on the wing. I worked my hardest in practice and outside of practice on my own time, and my coaches took notice. I was one of two sophomores that were moved up to the Varsity team at the end of the season. I was recently named captain for the 2020-2021 season. Unfortunately the pandemic brought our seasons to an early close, this was a disappointment to all, but I am working harder than ever to be ready for next season. I am a two way midfielder, comfortable doing everything with my strong hand and am also consistent with my off hand. To stay in shape and become stronger and faster, I do bodyweight workouts and go for runs, as well as hitting the wall and taking shots in the back yard to keep my skills sharp. I took two college level courses this year, AP U.S. History and AP Physics I, and I recently took their respective AP exams. I am also a member of the National Honor Society, the Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society, and the Spanish Honor Society. I have clocked 140 volunteer hours helping out in my communities, the majority of those hours coming from volunteering at my church. Apart from school and practice, I work at LeBlanc Orthodontics in Larchmont, New York, as an administrative assistant.
