Sam Mueller '21 was named the director of lacrosse operations in January 2022.

He is responsible for the management of the team's travel, nutrition, game day and practice logistics.

On the lacrosse field, the defenseman appeared in 47 career games, including 27 starts, recording 104 ground balls, 48 caused turnovers, a goal and an assist. Mueller earned first team All-NEC honors last season, helping Hobart to a second place finish in the conference standings. He twice led the Statesmen to a runner-up finish in the NEC Tournament (2017, 2019). The 2017 Hobart squad won the NEC regular season championship and the 2019 team won 11 games, the most in a season by the Statesmen in their Division I era.

A native of Jamesville, New York, Mueller graduated from Hobart in May with a bachelor’s degree in history.
