Shaun Church is beginning his second season as head coach of the MCC men’s lacrosse program.

He led the Tribunes to a 9-3 record and an appearance in the Region III-B championship game in 2018.

Church brings extensive coaching experience to the Tribunes. He most recently served as an assistant at Onondaga Community College, where he helped guide the Lazers to the 2017 NJCAA national championship.

Church began his coaching career at Eastern University (PA) and helped lead the Eagles to a berth in the 2013 NCAA Division III tournament. He then moved on to King’s College, where he was offensive coordinator during the 2014 season.

Church got his first head coaching position at ASA College and served in that role for two seasons before moving on to OCC.

Church also brings championship experience as a player. He captained the 2009 Onondaga squad to the NJCAA national championship before transferring to Salisbury University. Church then won a pair of NCAA Division III national titles with the Sea Gulls during his junior and senior seasons. During his collegiate playing career, the record of his teams was an incredible 78-3.

Church is also involved in a number of other coaching endeavors. He is active with SweetLax lacrosse and also served as the head coach for Team Turkey at the inaugural Euro Box Lacrosse Championships, which were held in Finland in July of 2017. He will be an assistant coach for Team Jamaica at the 2018 FIL World Lacrosse Championship in Israel.

Church received an associate's degree from Onondaga in 2009, and earned his bachelor's degree from Salisbury in 2012.
