She is Northwestern's all-time record holder and single season record holder in draw controls. Shelby also finished third all-time at NU in assists.

In 2018, Shelby was All-Big Ten, IWLCA West/Midwest All-Region first team, and was named to the Inside Lacrosse Media All-American Third Team, in addition to being a Tewaaraton Award Nominee.

She finished 3rd in the nation and 1st in the Big Ten in assists per game and was ranked 5th in the nation and 1st in the Big Ten in draw controls per game with 8.00. Shelby was also 2nd in the Big Ten in points per game.

After college, Shelby was selected as the third overall pick in the 2019 Women's Professional Lacrosse League Draft by the WPLL Pride.
