Shelby Stanton
Recruit Profile
Very coachable, takes constructive criticism very well, advanced stick skills, primary voice on the defensive side, aggressive, and a player who is passionate about the sport.
I started playing lacrosse when I was 9 years old, and have since been very passionate about the sport. I joined BBL Elite in seventh grade, and since then I have been a strong defender for the team. In my freshman year at Mountain Lakes High School, one of the top 20 girls lacrosse teams in New Jersey, I was an eminent varsity defender who also ran in the midfield and would take draws.
In addition to lacrosse, I have been a varsity volleyball player both my freshman and sophomore year of high school. I was also a JV basketball player my freshman year. Throughout my high school career I have participated in Model UN, Entrepreneurship Club, and served on the sophomore panel. Outside of school, I regularly volunteered at the St. Francis Residential Community. In the summers, I really enjoy volunteering with the various youth sports programs that Mountain Lakes offers at our local turf. This coming school year, I am going to be a peer leader, which is a chosen group of juniors and seniors that meet with freshman throughout the school year to make sure they have a smooth transition into high school. This year, I have also joined the MLHS Cross Country team, as the volleyball season has been postponed.
