Shoshana Epstein
Recruit Profile
Coachable, versatile Lax IQ, strong leader and team player-- a quick sprinting athlete who is disciplined and commited
The crisp sound of a whipping stick, a yellow blur, and a goal. I've been hooked on lacrosse since I started playing at nine. I've always been notably fast, with solid stick handling, and explosive quickness. As a versatile player, I am experienced with defense and attack but most recently have been shining in the midfield where I could get the best of both worlds leveraging my speed. I am capable of cutting and scoring on offense, staying big on defense, forcing turnovers, and converting to a fastbreak goal. I've been described as coachable and an outstanding teammate. Moreover, I am a devoted athlete, participating in a variety of sports. When figure skating, I achieved the Dorthy Hamil Dedication Award. I start for Hopkins's varsity field hockey and have played varsity high school lacrosse since eighth grade. I was also chosen to play in the CONNY All-star game at Yale for the Greenwich Youth Lacrosse A team. Additionally, I started my own club at school, The Tommy Fund Club, supporting local pediatric patients and their families while they undergo treatment at Smilow Yale Cancer Hospital. I also participate in many clubs at school, such as Empowering Women through Entrepreneurship and fundraising for the Connecticut Food Bank; but I am most proud of being selected to the robotics team. Currently, I am enrolled in an intellectually rigorous curriculum at Hopkins School. I've completed my freshman and sophomore years, taking all honors classes. Whether athletics or academic commitment, I always seek to further develop my skills and knowledge by demonstrating my dedication and execution.
