Sophia Burns
Recruit Profile
Strong, conditioned team player with a high lax IQ, competitive drive, and a love for the sport - disciplined and aggressive multi-sport athlete.
I started playing lacrosse at 14, going into my freshman year of High School. During my first year of lacrosse I made Varsity on my High School team as a midfielder, received award for the most outstanding rookie on the team, and had the most interceptions on my team for the season. I am comfortable dodging and man-on-man defense. This past year I played for my High School's Varsity soccer team. I am in my Junior year in the IB-CP program. I participate in multiple clubs at my school, currently 10, and volunteer on a regular basis.

Speed, agility, stamina and an amazingly coachable attitude is what Sophia brings to the field. Her positivity and hardworking attitude is a coaches dream. Sophia is always ‘on’ when she is at the field. During practice and games she is a workhorse and her small quick stature is a force on offense and on defense. Sophia is strong on ball and off ball and consistently works hard to continuously improve. She is such a pleasure to coach and will absolutely be an asset to any collegiate program.
Anne McBride
Sophia is a coach's ideal total player. As a relative newcomer to lacrosse, she asserted herself into the starting line-up as a freshman due to her determination. She trains hard, both in and out of season, and that shows on the field as she is able to allude opponents with her speed, agility, and ambidexterity. Sophia is an extremely coachable, team-oriented player, who puts her soccer background to use on the lacrosse field. She puts into action coaching directives and the product is success. Sophia is in the top tier of players I have coached in over 40 years, and would be an asset to a collegiate program.
Ashley McLeod
Sophia is an extremely willing player. She has a positive attitude that is unmatched by most players. On the field, Sophia is incredibly fast and has great endurance. Sophia yearns to improve and soaks up all coaching suggestions. For example, I told Sophia to work on her left hand. When I saw her 3 weeks later, she had improved her left hand so much you would have thought that she was ambidextrous. She is one of the hardest working kids I have had the pleasure of coaching.
