Profile
My playing and coaching experience spans 45 years; coaching boys in grades 2-12, teaching them to be good players, teammates and people through lacrosse. Lax is a brotherhood.

Actively coaching boys youth and high school lacrosse for 25+ seasons at Mariemont. We are a small public high school in Ohio with 180 boys, who has achieved well beyond expectations for a school our size. We have captured 4 State Titles and appeared in 8 State Championship games in 18 seasons as a sanctioned HS team. In 2019 I was inducted into the Ohio Lacrosse Hall of Fame, which was both humbling and an honor. My philosophy as a coach is: hard work, respect: yourself, your teammates, your opponents, your coaches and the officials; put the team first, get better everyday and unselfishly execute your role for the team. As a coach I have found that the best gift you can give a kid is a positive self image, so when you find kids doing something right, tell them and praise them. Parents and players that know me will tell you that "Coach P is an old school coach that provides the boys with an old school approach to sports and life, and the harder you work the luckier you get". Work hard and play hard, but above all "have fun and enjoy the experience", because as a high school (or youth) athlete, these are the best days of your life athletically, because you are able to get on the field and make plays, this is not necessarily the case once you move onto the next level. Success breeds success, and people want to be part of a successful activity. Build a program mentality from top to bottom, and give the boys an opportunity to learn to be leaders and better people through lacrosse.
