Scholar-Athlete. That is how the Dean of students responded when asked to describe me. Besides the ocean and my family, lacrosse is my greatest love. When I was 12 my babysitter took to me the park and put a lacrosse stick in my hands, and I haven't looked back since. My strengths as a player include my athleticism, stick skills, and field awareness. I may not have a lacrosse program at my school (I’m changing that), but I do everything in my power to replicate the practice my teammates get in the spring. I play a lot of wall ball (NYC has a lot of walls!), I do lacrosse-specific strength and conditioning with my club and, individually, and I watch game film to improve my lax IQ and prepare for the summer club season. I also try and stay active. I’ve been a three-sport award-winning varsity athlete since freshman year. I take school as seriously as my game. I have taken/will take every advanced class offered at my school while maintaining an A average. This year my class schedule includes Advanced Mandarin (Literature and History), Advanced Math, and Advanced Chemistry. I like to be challenged. I participate in many clubs including debate and environmental awareness, and I am starting a tutoring center at my school. I helped establish a middle school lacrosse team last year where I was the student coach for the team and even designed the uniforms, and this year I will be the vice president of the athletic council. Additionally, I volunteer tutor with Harlem Lacrosse two days a week, with plans to connect my high school tutoring center with the Harlem lacrosse program.
