Offensively, his hitch step and ability to utilize space make him a threat with his feet, and his fine-tuned shot selection compromises even the best goalies. Defensively, Tommy plays near-perfect SSD, using his feet and his head before his stick, he is capable of containing skilled players with ease. He is additionally well-versed in taking faceoffs, a valuable additional skill for a midfielder.

Tommy is the definition of a true two-way middie - he is an offensive threat who can hustle back to make big stops during transitions and on settled defense. His advantages on offense include his explosiveness and speed to take players one on one as well as his ability to read timing of slides for smart shot selection or on-point assist opportunities. Tommy also has a strong skillset with faceoffs when needed.
