William Holtzer
Recruit Profile
Athletic and versatile long pole with quick feet, stick work, and high Lacrosse IQ with a commitment to be a dominant college defender. Excellent student excelling in AP and Honors.
I am committed to my academic growth and have enjoyed success in the classroom taking AP and Honors classes.
I play Defense and LSM on the Varsity Lacrosse team and also Varsity Ice Hockey. I am a Captain and team leader of the defense on the field and off the field. I pride myself on my athletic ability as a defender using footwork and position to eliminate offensive opportunities. My game has always been focused on takeaways and checks, as it is what I love but have worked hard this year to be a well rounded position defensive player . My commitment to footwork, stick-work, and LAX IQ has paid off. Playing both LSM and Base Defense has provided an opportunity to be a complete long pole maximizing value to the team.
I was born deaf and at four years old received bilateral cochlear implants. I spent my earlier years in intense speech and language therapy. I learned how to be my own advocate early in life. I learned that hard work and commitment can have life long results. I am 100% mainstreamed academically and athletically, and while there are certain hearing environments that are challenges, there are no limits to what I can do.
What makes me different athletically is my work ethic and high energy. I am 100% confident that I will make a positive impact at the next level as a versatile player that can be used in any situation. My goal for college is to be a role model for young deaf athletes and make a positive influence on the entire campus and the lacrosse program.
