Zach Byank
Recruit Profile
Coachable, team player with a great work ethic and strong Lax IQ, disciplined and an aggressive/competitive multi-sport athlete.
I started playing lacrosse when I was 5. I started out as a midfielder playing club for Patriot and BBL, while also playing for my town team throughout elementary school and middle school. I played goalie on and off during this time, but when high school came around, my coach asked me to switch my position from mid field to goalie. I immediately took his offer and I have been working on perfecting my skills ever since. Now I play on BBL and I am the starting varsity goalie at my high school West Morris Central. I am now a junior and I have played in the World Games hosted in Israel and the World Series of Youth lacrosse on the Israel national team. I am taking AP history and AP statistics this year and I also raise seeing eye puppies to help the blind people in my community. I have been raising seeing eye dogs for the past three years. I take pride in controlling the game of lacrosse by throwing perfect clears and saving every shot that I can. I also play football where I lettered for Varsity as a sophomore. I play linebacker and tight end but I also kick off and kick field goals. As a junior I was named varsity captain for my high school team as well as winning the most dedicated on the team award. I had a save percentage of 50.7%. I also won second team all county in the NJAC and honorable mention in the New Jersey Interscholastic lacrosse league.
