Leader Explosive Flexible Determined

I was first introduced to the game when I was about 5 years old.I was bouncing back and fourth between defense and goalie, but one day my dad took me to an empty parking lot behind a school that we lived close to and he started softly shooting on me. I fell in love with the position that day. I have learned many things about life through this game. As a goalie you need to be able to read the field, have situational awareness and be able to work together as a team to accomplish one goal.
Lacrosse has given me the ability and experience to understand the importance of teamwork. Teamwork is important because you need to learn to work together in order to accomplish a complex situations. Lacrosse is a game of complex situations, there for you need your attack, your midfield, your defense, and goalie.
The best example I can recall on how teamwork helped us succeed, we were playing an overtime and the opposing team was attacking our goal, one of my defenders made a great check and recovered the ball. As we were trying to get the clear downfield and pressure mounting on the defender she looked back, saw me and made the pass. I looked up and saw my midfielder open and cleared it to her. As she caught the ball she turned and was going down to the cage in a perfect 1 v 1, but instead of going and risking the 1 v 1, she saw an attack men wide open, made the pass to her and she scored the winning goal. That is what I call teamwork.
Since I began to play lacrosse it has been my goal to be a collegiate athlete. I work hard on my academics, exercise on my own, practice skills not only with my team but independently, and I do not except failure as an option. I also take time to coach and mentor younger goalies, race motocross, rock climb and swimming.
I am excited about the future and my new chapter as a college athlete. Hope to hear from you all soon.

Thank you

I've had the pleasure of coaching Savvy at the Club level for several years. She is not only athletic in how she plays but also utilizes her lacrosse IQ to be a leader on the field, particularily in directing the defense by making realtime adjustments.
