My full name is Buntaro Louis Yoshida, but you can call me Boone. I am in the class of 2023 which is going into the Junior year. I started playing lacrosse in 1st grade. I was a short stick middie until 8th grade when I made the transition to LSM and close defense. I took face-offs for my 8th grade team and could get a few points during that season including the first goal during our championship game which lead to a win. I then made the choice to go to Steamboat Mountain School (SMS) where I would play for Steamboat Springs High School (SSHS). I unfortunately could not play any high school games during my freshmen year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. I was a starting defensemen on varsity for my Sophomore year playing for SSHS. I primarily played close defense, but I was also used as backup LSM. During the summer, I play for my local club team called the Commonwealth Kings where I also play as close defense and LSM. During Freshmen year, I was invited to attend Trilogy ICE, but was not able to go due to COVID-19. I will be attending Trilogy ICE this year. I am very comfortable with sliding, 1v1 from anywhere, and stick handling. During the winter, I do a lot of recreational skiing in Steamboat Springs. I will be taking AP Environmental Sciences in my Junior year. At SMS, I am part of the interact club which tries to help the Steamboat community in any way that they can. My plans for the future are to go into the veterinary field or any other field which works with animals.
