Hayden Ausherman
Recruit Profile
Tough, coachable, explosive, skilled offensive player, who can beat opponent in a variety of ways. A team player with strong Lax IQ around college level concepts.
As a student athlete, I enjoy competition both on and off the field. In the class room, I enjoy subjects like math, history, and Latin. On the field, I've excelled in a number of different sports including football, lacrosse, and track. My favorite sport is lacrosse. I began playing at six. Having played both field and box, I am comfortable dodging and finishing with both hands and pride myself on being a skilled midfielder.
Lacrosse has provided me the opportunity to compete and develop relationships with kids all over the country. It has also provided me a chance to experience some incredible events such as The World Series of Youth Lacrosse, The US Box Nationals, Showtime, and Championship Game at The Naptown Classic on ESPN2. Where we lost a thrilling game in OT to the #1 ranked team in the nation 10-9. It was my first time playing lacrosse on a big stage and it provided me a glimpse of what it would be like to play lacrosse in college. That experience has made me more driven than ever, as I want to compete on that level on a regular basis.
As I head into my junior season, my goal is to continue to focus on my academics, leadership skills, and areas I need to improve. At Wesleyan, we have a young core that's working hard every day. This past season we broke the school's all time season record going 17-2. After making it to the Final 8 in the 1A-5A championships, we believe next year will be our year. As a member of The Nationals, my teammates and I compete throughout the Fall and Summer against the nation's best.
When I am not working out, I like to relax, hang out with friends, and watch Georgia football and college lacrosse. I regularly volunteer at Serve Atlanta, Coach our Jr. Youth Programs at Wesleyan, and help tutor in the local community. I am also looking forward to attending my first mission trip this Spring, where my class mates and I will serve to help those less fortunate.

I have been working with Hayden for the past 8 years and have watched him progress as a player. Hayden has an excellent work ethic and always shows up to compete. He is versatile and can play Midfield and Attack. Hayden sees the field well and always understands where the open player is. I think Hayden is going to be a valuable asset at the next level and will help any team he is on win games. His quickness and ability to win 1 v 1 matchups in small spaces help to create scoring opportunities. Hayden’s experience with Box lacrosse also allows him to score and operate in tight spaces. Great kid who works hard and is goal oriented. It has been a pleasure to coach and help advise Hayden through this process.

My time with Hayden so far has been enjoyable as a coach. Seeing a player that implements instruction and adds it to his game is something that every coach wants. Seeing his growth within one year was outstanding. The ceiling is high with this 2 way midfielder. He will most definitely be a solid contributor to what ever college roster he makes.

Hayden comes to work every time we have a training session. He gives maximum effort each rep, pays attention to coaching cues, and does his best to implement the instructions. He also brings a very positive attitude that is infectious to others in the group, always elevating the energy levels of the other athletes he is working with. The combination of his physical and mental gifts are proven to be highly valuable to all teams he has played on, and will continue to be valuable as he moves forward in his career.

Hayden is a top-notch character guy for every team he's on and a consummate worker on and off the field. He's got an incredibly high lacrosse IQ with a strong game above and below GLE in either hand. He has great utility and can play 2-way midfield and attack and is great in the middle of the field on either end.

Hayden is a great kid and a great player. He works hard in all aspects of his life whether it’s school, sports, or anything else. Working with Hayden 1 on 1, I’ve been able to see his drive and commitment to be the best. He is very coachable and wants to improve his game. He is a great player now and will continue to be one at the next level.
Connor Breslin
Hayden is an excellent young man. He can do a lot of things for us on the field. Rare that you have a guy who can both be an initiator and an off-ball finisher. His greatest strength is his team-first approach and his desire to elevate the play of those around him. Will be a great addition to any locker room.
