I am a hardworking, determined, coachable, and multi sport student-athlete (lacrosse, squash, and ski racing) who shares my passion of sports by coaching younger kids.
Gobble! Gobble! Those were the first words I heard on a lacrosse field. I was three years old, sitting on the sidelines of a lacrosse field on an upside down ball bucket, watching my mom coach my older sister. I later learned the players really were yelling Got Ball! Got Ball! 13 years later I have developed a strong Lax IQ and confidence playing with both hands. My coaches have told me that I am extremely coachable and I appear comfortable playing in any spot on the 12. Through weightlifting and training I have worked hard to develop a strong shot from both hands. I am also unselfish on the field, keeping my head up to find openings for feeds or drives, or to slip into or clear spaces for others.
In addition to lacrosse, I play squash and ski (Giant Slalom ). These sports have helped me develop strong footwork, resilience, and tactics. Off the courts, snow, and fields, I am a hardworking and articulate student-athlete who knows how to manage sports, school work, and community service. I finished my Sophomore year with a 4.03 GPA, and, as a junior, I am taking three APs (Biology, Language, and History), Honors Pre-Calc, Honors Spanish 5, and Human Anatomy. I love history and biology!
I also am active in my school and local community. I am the Recording Secretary of Fairfield Ludlowes Kiwanis International (Key Club), which organizes community service events. I am also a Ludlowe Leader, where I provide school tours and mentor new students. This Spring, while attending school remotely, I organized a bottle and can recycling drive to raise funds for the local branch of the NAACP. That experience led me to become a member of a high-school age and up group, the Fairfield Equity Coalition, that seeks to enhance school curriculum and community programs by recognizing diverse perspectives.
In my free time, I love to travel and am very adventurous. I have ziplined over a waterfall in Canada, kayaked with alligators in Florida, and hiked in Yellowstone, carrying the bear spray while watching for Grizzlies. During the summers, I am a counselor at a youth day camp, working with kids ages 4-11.

Jess_caught_my_eye_last_year_as_a_freshman. Her_skills_were_well_beyond_what_we_ typically_see_at_the_freshman_level_in_the_Fairfield_Ludlowe_Girls’_Lacrosse_program. Placing_her_on_JV_as_a_freshman_was_important_for_her_development_as_a_player_to obtain_more_playing_time_than_she_would_have_gotten_on_Varsity,_but_important_to_ note_is_that_the_Varsity_squad_is_deep,_especially_on_offense,_and_Jess’s_skills_last_ year_were_comparable_to_our_non-starting_Varsity_attackers_who_were_older_than_she. And_this_was_at_the_beginning_of_the_season. Through_the_2019_spring_season,_Jess_ continued_to_develop_her_lacrosse_skills_and_lacrosse_IQ_while_also_emerging_as_a_true_ leader,_both_in_terms_of_leading_by_example_and_vocally. She_is_a_super_coachable_ player_who_is_always_working_to_improve_her_skills_and_looking_for_ways_to_support_ and_better_the_team_as_a_whole. She_seeks_constructive_criticism_and_implements_it._ She_is_the_type_of_player_to_be_the_first_one_on_the_field_and_the_last_to_leave._She’s_ a_go-getter_and_team_player_whose_ambition_and_initiative_are_inspiring._She_ended_ the_year_as_our_leading_scorer_on_JV_-_not_at_all_because_she_is_selfish_or_forces_it_ but_quite_the_opposite._She_is_a_go-to_low_attacker_who_anticipates_beautifully_-_she_is_ shifty_off_ball_and_has_a_multitude_of_shots._She_has_excellent_stick_skills_and_is_a_ threat_whenever_the_ball_is_in_the_offensive_zone,_whether_she_has_it_in_her_stick_or_ not._She_moves_the_ball_quickly_and_sets_up_opportunities_for_others,_while_cutting_in_ order_to_clear_the_lane_and_continue_to_be_a_threat._She’s_a_true_ambidextrous_player._ In_high_pressure_situations,_she_was_our_girl_and_she_took_it_in_stride._And_whenever_ the_opposing_defense_would_come_up_with_the_ball,_we_could_always_count_on_Jess_ to_redefend_ferociously_and_either_cause_a_turnover_or_slow_down_the_fast_break_for_our_ midfielders_to_get_back._In_addition_to_being_extremely_coachable,_she_is_also_just_ a_pleasure_to_be_around_and_is_someone_who_is_personable._She_is_mature_beyond_ her_years_and_gets_along_well_with_everybody - teammates,_coaches,_officials,_and_ opposing_players_alike!
Liz Mosher
Jess' determination & dedication is evident in her skills. Her timing of feeds leads her to be a dominant force in assists. She varies her shots and is consistent. She is true team player and is vocal on and off the field.
Meredith Meyran
Jess is an athletic attacker who is as dangerous with the ball as she is without it. She has amazing timing of her cuts and an extremely quick release. Her accuracy of her passes and her shots continues to impress. She is consistent and aggressive everywhere!
