John Courington
Recruit Profile
Dedicated to my craft. Coachable with strong work-ethic. Multi-sport athlete.
I began playing lacrosse in 7th grade and immediately took to the goalie position. In my 8th grade year, I was in net for our U15A state championship run. We won the title and I was awarded Tournament MVP. As a freshman and sophomore, I was named starter for my HS Varsity team. My club team is TeamMN 2018 Black. Loaded with D1 commits, TeamMN has given me a lot of experience facing intense practice and game-time situations. This has made me even more committed to the goalie craft. Apart from team practices, I do off-season small group skills training 3 to 5 times a week and twice a week in season. I attended Bill Pilat's 'The Goalie School' at the end of 2015 and have been invited to Jake Reed's Nike Bluechip camp in June '16. I work part-time at a lacrosse store selling gear and stringing sticks. I play football for my HS at safety, corner back, running back, and slot receiver. I also enjoy a good pick-up game of hockey, intramural basketball, mountain biking, snowboarding and golfing. I am interested in pursuing a career in Physical Therapy where I am able to help people overcome injuries. I am currently enrolled in Honors Biology, Honors English, and AP US History.

John Made our Varsity team as a 9th grader. He is a very tactical goalie. Good positioning and great stick skills. Outlet pass is above average. Aggressive goalie, who will challenge vs 1x1. I only see upside in his next 3 years at the HS level.
Cory Powell
John has only been playing the position for a few years and has shown a natural gift. He's athletic, has fast hands and can fuel a transition game with good clearing passes. He works hard to improve, listens well and acts on coaching feedback.
Chris Fleck
John is a very talented goalie. Works hard, very dedicated to his craft. Good size and footwork. Sees the ball well. Moves well in the clears and sees the field.
