I started playing lacrosse in kindergarten and after that, I was hooked. In 3rd grade the team needed a goalie and I volunteered. I fell into the position easily because I am not afraid of the ball and since then, I've worked to become the best goalie I can be. I talk to my team, sharing what I am able to see while watching the game. I started playing club lacrosse in 5th grade. I always been the only goalie on the team so I've had opportunity to grow consistently. I also played up each year since 3rd grade, playing with and learning from older players has been invaluable.
I am a member of the National Honor Society, National English World Language, and Social Studies Honor Societies. I completed three Honors classes during my freshman year (History, Physics, and Geometry), three Honors courses as a sophomore (Chemistry, Algebra II, and US History I), and currently, am in AP Psychology, AP US History, Honors English, and Honors Biology. Academics are important to me and I continue to work hard. I hold a 3.88 GPA. I received the Renaissance Award at Mount Olive High School (each year) for my academic accomplishments, maintaining all grades higher than a B.
I am a member of the student council and M.O.V.A. (Mount Olive Varsity Athletics Alliance). I am one of the founding members of Marauders in Action (established November 2020), which devotes time to giving back to my community. To date we've organized three events and I continue to volunteer. I am a Peer Leader with my church. I work part-time and have since March 2020. I believe in developing my whole self.
In addition to playing lacrosse, I have been playing football since kindergarten. As a freshman, I was selected to be a Captain. I play multiple positions on both offense and defense. At the end of my freshman football season, I received the Defensive MVP Award, given to me by my coaches. For 2022-2023, I am a Captain.
I also wrestle and have for 8 years. The 2019-2020 season, I wrestled with the JV team at 152lbs and my sophomore season, I wrestled with JV/Varsity team at 170lbs. This season I wrestle at 175-190lbs. I look forward to continuing to challenge myself on the field or mat. I believe in playing multiple sports to continue to evolve as an athlete.

Joe is an athletic, smart goalie. He has quick feet and quick hands. He is very vocal in goal, understands where everyone needs to be, and lets teammates know where they should be at all times. We are able to use Joe in our 10 man ride, he can start the clear with his feet if needed, and throws very good outlet passes. Joe just finished his first year as the full time starter and had a 60% save percentage.
