Kate Vlasek
Recruit Profile
Fast on the field, strong team player, and does not quit. 3-sport athlete; agile, versatile and willing to learn.
I joined a lacrosse team in 6th grade. At my school, I am a three-sport varsity athlete for cheer, soccer, and lacrosse. On the side, I play year-round club lacrosse for Grit Houston. I am fast on my feet, coachable, and confident with my stick in my left or right hand. I prefer to play defense, but I never complain if I am put on mid field or attack. I have been in several different art programs for Kinkaid including dance, film, and photography. I joined the club Paws during my freshman year. I have participated in multiple community service programs through out highschool threw Kinkaid and outside of school. Currently, I am a cheer coach for the afterschool KLS Cheer. For my senior year, I am hoping to be a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Council and a peer mentor. I work hard in school and my connections with my teachers have strengthened tremendously. I am there to help my teammates and classmates succeed. I am always there for my team to rely on. In the past, this has meant someone needed to make signs or getting bruised up just to prevent the other team from scoring, and I stepped forward to take the initiative out of the love I have for my coaches, teammates, and the sport. Being an athlete also means being a teammate and leader off the field. I care for my fellow athletes and will show them how much they mean to the team by bringing flowers to a hurt teammate in the hospital.
