Lucy Tyo
Recruit Profile
I am a coach-able team player. I am a focused but have fun on the field. I love the game!
I’m Lucy Tyo, a sophomore at Dripping Springs High School in Dripping Springs, Texas. I have played volleyball, participated in track and field events, ran cross country, but my true passion is lacrosse that I started playing four years ago.
I have overcome a few hurdles since 3rd grade when I was diagnosed with dyslexia. I have had to work harder than most to achieve my goals in school, but I’ve ultimately been successful in the classroom and on the field. I was determined to not let dyslexia get in the way of my dreams of going to college and being an athlete. I believe time management is a strength for me as I have to make sure I get my school work done so it doesn’t impact my lacrosse time. Having to fight harder in the classroom has allowed me to become a stronger athlete. I understand putting in extra time for school work or for lacrosse shows how committed, determined and dedicated I am. I love being able to walk away from my schoolwork, lace up my cleats, and put my stick in my hand and play a sport that I truly love. Working with my team and coaches on drills and games are what I most look forward to each week. I want to continue this passion of playing lacrosse in college while working on a degree in Elementary Education. I hope to be able to make a positive impact in the classroom working with children and help them follow their dreams.
