I've been playing lacrosse since kindergarten, and I've always loved it. I played for my township team from Kindergarten through to last season, when I aged out of it. I started for my middle school team in 7th and 8th grade, and in 8th grade, I was also one of two players invited to play up on the HS Varsity Lacrosse team, although COVID-19 limited that. When I was younger I rotated through all the positions, and on my middle school team I often switched from midfield to offense so I'm confident playing anywhere on the field. I'm especially strong with spacial awareneness and transitions, and I can switch from my dominant left hand to my right hand confidently. Outside of lacrosse, I play for my HS Varisty Basketball and Soccer teams, along with playing for my township soccer team and competing on a swim team during the summer. I am taking all Honors classes this year. I took initiative to take geometry, a typical 9th grade math course, during the past summer, so this year I am taking Honors Algebra 2. Math and science are specific passions of mine, and a few summers ago, I applied for and was awarded a scholarship to Space Camp at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, in Huntsville, Alabama. I enjoy art and I am taking photography this year. I am a peer tutor and I am also involved in my school robotics team. I like to listen to music, read books and articles, and spend time with my friends, especially playing sports together. I recently began learning basic Java programming for the software subteam on my robotics team, and have been learning to utilize that to code plugins to enhance Minecraft gameplay. I am also an activist, and I spent time in middle school planning Many Voices Day, a day for the middle school to embrace and learn about different cultures. I am also involved in the Sunrise Movement, a movement run by young people to create a difference regarding climate change and other large issues of today such as racism.
