First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to read my profile and I hope you and yours are healthy and safe.
My name is Soren Savard, I am 17 years old and a senior attending Mater Dei Catholic High School in Chula Vista, CA. I was born and raised in San Diego County and I am a first generation American with a Canadian father and a Portuguese mother. I have been involved in many sports as a young child from baseball, ice hockey, soccer, Aikido, football and lacrosse. My collegiate aspirations are to continue the playing my favorite sport of lacrosse while working towards an engineering degree.
Prior to high school I played 2 years with the Alpine Eagles (San Diego Youth Lacrosse Association) in Alpine, CA. I am entering my 3rd year of varsity high school lacrosse and play attack. In 2020, I registered 11 goals and 1 assist in 4 games before the season was cancelled. The previous lacrosse season I was awarded the top offensive player award after registering 13 goals and 14 assists in 9 games.
I also played junior varsity football in 2017 and 2018; I earned the most improved player award in 2017. I played varsity football in 2019 and was the starting center along with duties at guard and tackle.
I have received the both academic and athletic awards playing both lacrosse and football; 2020 Spring Sport All-Academic Team, 2019 San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic Team, 2019 Nation Honor Society Member, 2019 Varsity Lacrosse-Top Offensive Player and 2017 JV Football-Most Improved Player Award.
I am a highly motivated student athlete who is current course load includes; AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP Government & Politics, Science Academy 3, Advanced Music and an active member of Campus Ministry.
During the California Covid shutdown I have continued to train on and off the field. I have taken this opportunity to keep working towards my goal of playing lacrosse at the collegiate level while earning an engineering degree and being a big contributor to my collegiate team's success.
