Recruit Profile
Motivated, hardworking, and coachable. A team player who is goal-oriented and supportive and is a multi sport athlete who loves the game of lacrosse!

I started playing lacrosse when I was in second grade for a local team (Chestnut Hill Lightning). I eventually moved on to play for STEPS Philly for a year when I was 13 and then Headstrong ever since. I was a swing player for my high school, freshman year and am a varsity player sophomore year. During the lockdown and summer break, I have been practicing hard because I love to put in the extra work with my shots and dodges. I am comfortable dodging and shooting with both hands and I like to use speed to beat my opponents. I also am pretty good at clean checks and ground balls. I'm a multi-sport athlete, playing both club and varsity school soccer and lacrosse. Additionally, I am a captain for my club soccer team. I am also a practice player/reserve for a women's semi-pro team (Philadelphia Lonestar). I've always had so much fun with sports ever since I was little. My relationship with the game has definitely developed into a love of the game and the joy that comes from it.

On an academic note, there are no AP classes at my high school but I have been taking advanced math since freshman year and I'm taking advanced history next year. I'm a straight A student and additionally I love tutoring younger kids in math at a neighboring elementary school. I currently am tutoring Kindergarteners on how to read weekly over zoom and am helping to tutor another high school student in Latin. I have placed two years in the National Latin Exam, and one year in the AMC Math Exam. I've overloaded every year either in languages or with a seminar and participate in a few clubs as well. I'm in the Asian Student Alliance Club (I'm currently co-authoring an article about the Lunar New Year and what it means to me)

In addition to sports, academics, and clubs, I also have a love for music. I've played piano since I was eight and I am a leader of a nonprofit called Musiscola as well. A classmate and I started it over the summer in an effort to spread music and a musical education in the Philadelphia area. We are currently working on some projects for 2021 after creating a successful and well received virtual performance video that we sent out to Nursing Homes and schools nearby.

Zoe is a standout. She is confident, makes smart decisions, and understands the flow of a game. She picks the right moments to drive & make a play unfold, while also understanding team concepts of possession after a long defensive stance, countering a streak of goals, and utilizing a balanced or unbalanced attack equally. She will also mentor and help younger players with our game plan. Zoe is always doing the small things to get better and has increased her feeding accuracy, really being able to thread in some unreal assists to teammates! Her shot selection has really improved, to the point where I would say she’s one of the few players on a field that “chooses” her shots, analyzes goalie tendencies and takes some of the heat off her shot to get the placement that is needed. Zoe continues to make big plays in pressure filled moments and is a threat on attack. Zoe’s dedication to improve her lateral speed & overall agility has made her a solid & patient defender, which gives our squad versatility to play Zoe on both ends of the field- there’s no doubt she’ll be a contributor at the next level!

Zoe is an exceptional multi-sport athlete who is not only strong and fast, but has great field vision. She is an instinctive midfielder, and that game sense allows her to embrace high pressure situations especially in the midfield on the ride and in transitions off the draw. Zoe is a threat at the draw with her one handed grabs and smooth stick handling skills. She is also a student-athlete who is hard working, selfless, respectful and committed to excellence academically, athletically and in her community. When Zoe is on the field she makes everyone look good, and she is a true leader and highly respected by her teammates. Zoe without a doubt is wonderful to coach.
